In 1967, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., isolated himself from the demands of the civil rights movement, rented a house in Jamaica with no telephone, and labored over his final manuscript. In this lesser known prophetic work, which was unavailable for several years, he lays out his thoughts, plans, and dreams for America's future. Now, after having worked to gain the right to vote, in some ways it seemed they were further from his vision of justice and equality. In his final work he makes clear a vision for better jobs, higher wages, decent housing, and quality education. With a universal message of hope that continues to resonate, King demands an end to global suffering, asserting that humankind - for the first time - has the resources and technology to eradicate poverty, if we are willing to work to see it come to pass.

Join us beginning Monday, February 3rd at 6:30 pm via Zoom for our initial conversation as we dive into Dr. King's book and wrestle with the question, where do we go from here?
