Gobin is currently offering a Confirmation Class for our adolescents who are interested in being a part of the church in a more active and advanced way. We will be using a curriculum called Re:form that is designed to provide students with a fun and safe way to explore their own beliefs as well as the beliefs of Christianity and the United Methodist Church. Youth will be encouraged to share opinions and ask questions while forming a group that can grow with them as they continue their own spiritual growth in the future. Our first class will be from 10-12 on Saturday, January 30th, and we will meet each Saturday until we have confirmation on Easter Sunday. If you are interested or have questions, please call or text: Alisa Isaacs-Bailey (317)496-3295 STRENGTH TO LOVE BOOK STUDY 6 Week Study – Wednesdays beginning February 25th at 6pm “If there is one book Martin Luther King, Jr. has written that people consistently tell me has changed their lives, it is Strength to Love.”So wrote Coretta Scott King. She continued: “I believe it is because this book best explains the central element of Martin Luther King, Jr.’ s philosophy of nonviolence: His belief in a divine, loving presence that binds all life. That insight, luminously conveyed in this classic text, here presented in a new and attractive edition, hints at the personal transformation at the root of social justice: ” By reaching into and beyond ourselves and tapping the transcendent moral ethic of love, we shall overcome these evils.” This book will act as a trusted guide as we move into this new year teaching and directing us as we hold the tension of love and justice. Zoom Link will be announced as we near closer to start. For more information please email us at joel@gobinumc.org. Subscribe to our mailing list Share this:EmailFacebookTwitter
